On 15 May, the World Phygital Community revealed the results of its Incentive Program, recognising members with Gold, Silver and Bronze status for their performance across the 2025/2026 season.
The WPC Incentive Program is a season-long recognition system designed to reward members driving the global growth of the phygital ecosystem. Members accumulate points for the delivery of ranking tournaments across four disciplines, the development of local phygital infrastructure, government engagement, and community or promotional initiatives throughout the season.
Beyond strengthening a member’s standing within the World Phygital Community ecosystem, the program unlocks a range of exclusive opportunities and benefits for Gold and Silver members, including VIP access to major WPC events, participation in leadership meetings, priority tournament registration, invitations to private WPC gatherings, opportunities to serve as community ambassadors, and special awards. All associated benefits remain active until the start of the Games of the Future 2027.
Dan Merkley, Chairperson and Managing Director of the World Phygital Community said: “Seeing new members achieve Gold and Silver status this season is a strong reflection of how our ecosystem continues to evolve and grow. Across every region, members are doing more to develop local phygital infrastructure, deliver competitions, build communities, and create new opportunities within the ecosystem. The overall standard across the WPC continues to rise each season, and that momentum is incredibly exciting to see.”
All WPC members were evaluated across five key areas throughout the season:
- Tournament Performance & Delivery: Hosting official ranking tournaments, including Phygital Origins and Phygital Rivals across the four core disciplines.
- Operational & Infrastructure Development: Establishing a dedicated phygital entity, creating local infrastructure such as training centers, clubs and venues, and and securing official recognition or support for phygital sport through government bodies, National Olympic Committees, or traditional sports federations.
- Promotion & Publicity: Producing high-quality content, participating in speaking opportunities at WPC or external events, engaging content creators and influencers (50k-500k+ followers), and securing earned media coverage.
- Community & Administrative Support: Supporting the wider WPC ecosystem through recruiting new members from an approved list, assisting other members with applications or tournament delivery, organizing workshops at the request of WPC, and in-kind contributions including services, equipment, or logistical support.
- Games of the Future Bidding: Contributing to the Games of the Future host city process through activities including signed MOUs, official bid submissions, government-backed bid documentation, and successful hosting bids.
At the conclusion of each tournament season, members are classified according to their total accumulated points. The top 15 members are awarded Gold status, while the next 35 highest-performing members receive Silver status, while all remaining members recognized with Bronze status. While the rankings reset each season, select achievements and contributions may still carry value into the following season.
This season, Phygital South Africa achieved the highest overall score with 565 points. Meanwhile, Phygital Games Spain S.L (Spain), Esports Edutech Türkiye (Turkey), Qazaq Cybersport Federation (Kazakhstan), Association Malienne pour la promotion de la Culture Esport AMPCE (Mali), and E.P.S. Virtual Gaming Cyprus (Cyprus) each achieved Gold status for the first time.
