The Games of the Future Astana 2026 powered by Samruk-Kazyna has drawn to a close after 12 days of competition across eight disciplines.
At the heart of the program were the four core disciplines – Phygital Basketball, Phygital Dancing, Phygital Shooter and Phygital Football – where WPC clubs and athletes had a clean sweep.
Phygital Basketball presented by Halyk Fund
The champions of the tournament were crowned at the Athletics Sports Complex “Qazaqstan,” where Wilders overcame LIGA PRO TEAM 36-26. The WPC ecosystem’s depth was on full display in the quarterfinals, with Flow Game Basketball and Boca Juniors (Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos y Videojuegos de Argentina) joined by host-nation club PBC Astana (RPA “Qazaq Cybersport Federation”) and MINSK (Belarusian Federation of Phygital Sports).
Phygital Dancing presented by Solidcore Resources
At Barys Arena, Franco Vitali edged past Lina 2-1 in the final to take the title, bringing to a close a competition that saw 16 athletes contest 28 matchups for a US$75,000 prize pool. Franco, who qualified through Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos y Videojuegos de Argentina, picked up his first major trophy after two years on the Phygital Rivals circuit. The bronze medal went to Sergio Mayta (ESPORTS ENTERTAINMENT), who beat Ivan Vlasov 2-0, while WPC-affiliated athletes Andres Guardo (BUENOS TIEMPOS S.A.S.), Sagdi (Federation of Phygital Sports of Uzbekistan) and Viagonce (Phygital Brazil) each advanced to the quarterfinals.
Phygital Shooter CS2 presented by Yandex Go
Team KZ won a thrilling 2-1 final over Liga Pro Team at Beeline Arena to claim the US$50,000 top prize, following five days of competition that saw both finalists progress through the group stages and semifinals. The third-place match saw Minsk House, competing through the Belarusian Federation of Phygital Sports, defeat last year’s champions NOVAQ, while Team Hybrids (Phygital South Africa), Klan Pedrajas (Phygital Games Spain) and MIRAGE TEAM (Federation of Phygital Sports of Uzbekistan) also represented the WPC pathway in the competition.
Phygital Football UFL presented by Samruk-Kazyna
In Phygital Football, all four semifinalists came via WPC members. NS Team (Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos y Videojuegos de Argentina), were crowned champions after defeating Quetzales-Armadillos in an epic final that finished with a penalty shoot-out. The third-place match saw FC OLYMPIC PHYGITAL (Federation of Phygital Sports of Uzbekistan) defeat Club Holcattes (Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos de Guatemala), while ACF x Allur (Qazaq Cybersport Federation) and Peñarol (Asociación Uruguaya de Deportes Virtuales) reached the quarterfinals, underlining the strength of WPC-affiliated clubs throughout the tournament.
