The Final Countdown: 30 days until Games of the Future 2026

The Final Countdown: 30 days until Games of the Future 2026

The countdown is on. In just one month, the world’s best phygital clubs and athletes will arrive in Astana for the Games of the Future 2026.

From 29 July to 9 August, more than 800 participants from over 50 countries will compete across eight disciplines, bringing together elite physical performance and digital competition on phygital sport’s biggest stage.

The road to Astana has been shaped by months of competition across the World Phygital Community’s 2025/26 season. Through Phygital Origins and Phygital Rivals tournaments hosted by WPC members around the world, competitors battled for ranking points and qualification.

Phygital Contenders Astana 2026 then offered a final opportunity to earn a place at the Games of the Future. Four additional places were also awarded through the WPC Incentive Program, recognizing outstanding nominations submitted by WPC Gold Members.

Dan Merkley, Chairperson and Managing Director of the World Phygital Community, said: “The journey to Astana reflects what the World Phygital Community is all about: creating opportunities for clubs and athletes around the world to compete, develop, and reach the highest level of our sport. The quality and diversity of this year’s field speaks to the incredible progress we’ve made together, and I’m excited to see the next chapter unfold at the Games of the Future.”

Attention now turns to the official Games of the Future 2026 Draw Ceremony on 7 July, where clubs and athletes across disciplines will discover their group-stage opponents and their path to the title of phygital champion.

Don’t miss the first major moment of Games of the Future 2026. Tune in to Phygital+ on July 7 to watch the Draw Ceremony live and see how the road to Astana unfolds ahead of competition beginning on July 29.
