NS Team were crowned champions of Phygital Football presented by Samruk-Kazyna after a dramatic final against Quetzales-Armadillos at the Qazaqstan Sports Complex. With the teams locked at 3-3 after full time, the title was decided by a tense penalty shootout that went to sudden death, where NS Team held their nerve to win 4-3 and lift the trophy for the first time.
The result brought six days of Phygital Football competition at the Games of the Future 2026 powered by Samruk-Kazyna to an end, with 16 clubs competing for a share of the US$625,000 prize pool.
Three-quarters of the clubs competing in the tournament – 12 in total – qualified through the WPC ecosystem, with seven of those reaching the quarterfinals including:
- Peñarol (Asociación Uruguaya de Deportes Virtuales)
- ACF x Allur (RPA «Qazaq Cybersport Federation»)
- FFK “ROTOR CISSY” (Agency for the development of computer and other sports)
The other four clubs all secured semifinal spots – the first time this has happened in any discipline in the history of the Games of the Future.
The last day of competition started with the third-place match, which saw FC OLYMPIC PHYGITAL (Federation of Phygital Sports of Uzbekistan) win 1-0 against Club Holcattes (Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos de Guatemala).
Champions NS Team were representing Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos y Videojuegos de Argentina while Quetzales-Armadillos represented ALUNIA SA DE CV.
