Wilders claimed a place in phygital sport history by defeating reigning champions LIGA PRO TEAM 36-26 to win Phygital Basketball presented by Halyk Fund and become the first core discipline champions crowned at the Games of the Future 2026 powered by Samruk-Kazyna.
Across 28 matches at the Athletics Sports Complex “Qazaqstan”, 16 clubs competed for a share of the US$400,000 prize pool, combining digital competition in 3on3 Freestyle with fast-paced 2v2 action on the basketball court.
The tournament brought together clubs from across the WPC ecosystem, many of whom carried their momentum from Phygital Rivals and Phygital Contenders into the knockout stages with impressive performances.
Flow Game Basketball and Boca Juniors (representing the Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos y Videojuegos de Argentina) advanced to the quarterfinals, alongside host city team PBC Astana (representing the RPA “Qazaq Cybersport Federation”) and MINSK (representing the Belarusian Federation of Phygital Sports). Their performances highlighted the growing strength and depth of Phygital Basketball across the World Phygital Community.
