Host City bids open for the Games of the Future 2028, 2029 and 2030

Phygital International has opened the host city bidding process for the Games of the Future 2028–2030, inviting cities and organizations around the world to take part.

The process will determine who will stage for the next three editions of the world’s leading phygital sports event. Hosting the tournament offers huge opportunities for a city to gain global attention and position itself as a forward-thinking center of sport, tech and youth engagement.

The Games of the Future 2025 in Abu Dhabi welcomed more than 40,000 spectators and delivered over 460 million broadcast views globally, alongside hundreds of millions of digital engagements.

With 90% of the audience aged 18–34, the event continues to demonstrate strong appeal to a highly engaged, next-generation fanbase.

“Hosting the Games of the Future offers more than a global event; it provides a platform to drive youth engagement, accelerate digital transformation and strengthen international visibility through sport and technology,” says John Hewitt, International Marketing & Communications Director at Phygital International. “Building on the success of Abu Dhabi and ahead of Astana this summer, we are inviting ambitious cities to help shape the next chapter of this global movement.”

All applications are reviewed by an independent expert committee convened by Phygital International and assessed against criteria including:

  • infrastructure readiness
  • delivery capability
  • digital innovation
  • legacy planning
  • community engagement
  • alignment with the values of phygital sport.

With the Games of the Future 2026 set to electrify Astana, Kazakhstan from 29 July to 9 August, and a shortlist of countries – including Brazil, Serbia and Uzbekistan – already competing to host the 2027 edition, the opening of bids for 2028 to 2030 is an invitation to be part of what comes next.
