With the Games of the Future 2025 fast approaching – and game titles and formats now locked in – clubs and athletes across the World Phygital Community are entering the final stretch of their preparation for next month’s ultimate phygital showdown. From intensive training camps to high-intensity digital and physical sessions, teams everywhere are stepping up, all aiming to arrive in Abu Dhabi ready to make their mark.
In Uzbekistan, preparations are progressing strongly across both Phygital Basketball and Phygital Dancing, supported by the Federation of Phygital Sports of Uzbekistan. In Phygital Basketball, UzBig Team recently completed an intensive training camp focused on conditioning and tactical development before testing themselves through friendly matches with local clubs. Their preparation now moves international, with the squad travelling to Minsk to face new opponents and sharpen their competitive edge. Meanwhile, Phygital Dancing representative Stella Mkrtycheva continues her individual training with consistency and focus as she readies herself for the global stage.
“We are looking forward to the upcoming Games. Our team is ready and motivated to do their best and show good results.” said Elbek Makhmudov, General Secretary of the Federation of Phygital Sports of Uzbekistan.
Across Serbia, athletes and clubs are also stepping up their efforts, preparing to compete across several phygital disciplines at this year’s tournament, highlighting the region’s growing strength within the phygital movement.
In Phygital Football, Z10- who earned their spot at GOTF 2025 through Phygital Contenders: Abu Dhabi Football in July – continue to push hard. Supported by the Serbian Association of Electronic Sports and Esport, their schedule remains intense as they work on both digital coordination and physical performance, with confidence building steadily.
“No one is born with confidence – we are born with motivation. And we are all motivated for this competition, while also hoping for the best,” said Stefan Stevic, Manager at the Serbian Association of Electronic Sports and Esport.
Led by the Serbian Phygital Federation, Adria All Stars are also intensifying their preparations for the Phygital Basketball.3on3 Freestyle discipline, with players like Kolja balancing professional commitments with daily digital and on-court training. “My best advice would be to firstly find a game you really enjoy and are talented at, since without that you won’t go far,” Kolja said. “Secondly, make sure you train a lot but don’t overdo it – it’s also good to have a balance in life. And finally, believe in yourself and don’t give up. A positive mindset is such an important factor.”
From the Armenian phygital community, Phygital Dancing athlete Margarita Badoyan – supported by Phygital Sport LLC – is also among the WPC athletes preparing for Abu Dhabi. Her journey into the discipline began with a last-minute invitation to Phygital Rivals: Armenia – Dancing, a tournament she ultimately won. With GOTF 2025 approaching, Margarita continues to train with focus while staying grounded in her philosophy of performing with joy and honesty. “I’m more emotionally prepared now, as I understand the scale of this event and the responsibility that lies on me,” she said.
Kazbek Tomaev, General Director of Phygital Sport LLC, added: “By winning Phygital Rivals, she confirmed that true victory lies in the courage to enter the ring, stay true to one’s values, and show respect to your opponent.”
With strong backing from the Venezuela Federation of Electronic Sports, along with the Ministry of Sport and the Venezuelan Olympic Committee, Venezuela’s phygital community are also building momentum and gearing up with confidence for Abu Dhabi.
Set to compete in the Phygital Basketball.3on3 Freestyle discipline, Baruta Riders are stepping up their training, pushing hard to perfect the timing, coordination, and split-second transitions that link digital strategy with on-court action. Meanwhile, Phygital Dancing athlete Enmanuel Rodríguez remains committed to his training routine, maintaining consistency, and working on the technical precision required for the Phygital Dancing.Just Dance competition.
“The team has demonstrated rigorous preparation, refining both their virtual strategies and athletic performance. Their achievements have earned them a place of distinction, serving as a clear example of the potential within Venezuela’s electronic sports scene,” said Emgel Farfan, President, Venezuela Federation of Electronic Sports.
As these clubs and athletes move through their final preparation phases, their stories illustrate the diversity of pathways into phygital sport and the shared commitment that unites the global community. With the Games of the Future 2025 now within reach, these preparations set the stage for what promises to be a landmark moment in phygital sports’ continued evolution.
