
Phygital Football delivered another exciting chapter in Abu Dhabi as day three of the first-ever Phygital Contenders tournament came to a close. With the group stage now complete, the eight clubs advancing to the quarterfinals have been confirmed, each earning their place through standout performances and hard-fought wins.
Each match tested the clubs across both virtual and physical formats, and the results have delivered a competitive and challenging quarter-final grouping. The clubs that have qualified for the knockout stage are:
- México Quetzales – Armadillos FC, who defeated OAA Esports and Gentle Neighbours, in order to qualify.
- FC WhiteBird came through with a decisive win over La Crema and CEFL PHYGITAL.
- Zero Tenacity qualified with back-to-back wins, beating ALKHDOUR FC and Orlando Pirates Fives.
- KMF Titograd qualified after a close match with AIGLES PHYGITAL and a narrow loss to Team Ghana.
- IndexG secured qualification with two wins over Interstellars, Team Joga and Navai.
- CM JARDIM maintained strong form with wins over Greni Smith and PGM Covic.
- Libertadores PT qualified with two confident wins, defeating Street Ball and Team Santa.
- Greni Smith sealed their place with a high-scoring performance against PGM Covic, qualifying as the best second-placed club despite a loss to CM JARDIM.
Hamed Al Jahwari, General Secretary of the Omani Gaming and Esports Committee said:“This was a new and challenging experience for our team, but also a strong start. The tournament offers a unique mix of physical and digital, and we’re proud to be part of this step forward for phygital sports. It’s given our players real exposure to international-level competition.”
