
The World Phygital Community (WPC) 2025/26 tournament season is well underway, showcasing outstanding performances and landmark tournaments across multiple continents. Phygital Origins and Phygital Rivals events in the core disciplines are demonstrating the energy and skill defining this competitive season, as athletes, clubs, and fans connect through the fusion of physical and digital sport. Running until February 2026, the season also forms a key qualification pathway towards the Games of the Future 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The Phygital Rivals: Serbia – Phygital Basketball drew more than 100,000 online viewers and stood out as one of the most engaging tournaments of the WPC 2025/26 season so far. Held at the Dunk Shop Performance Court, eight clubs competed in Serbia’s latest Phygital Basketball event. Voždovac won the title after going undefeated across all matches, edging Partizan Phygital 35–32 in the final. The team averaged 37 points per game, the highest of the tournament, demonstrating both consistency and precision throughout the competition. The event’s high-level gameplay, strong production quality, and growing digital audience highlighted the accelerating rise of Phygital Basketball across the region.

In Muscat, Phygital Rivals: Oman – Football brought together eight clubs at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre for a tightly contested tournament that highlighted the region’s growing competitiveness in phygital sport. JR Style successfully defended their title, edging Fearless 4–3 in a tense final to become back-to-back Phygital Rivals champions. After winning last season’s tournament, the team earned qualification to Phygital Contenders: Abu Dhabi – Football, where they gained valuable international experience. They now have the opportunity to do the same again and build on their momentum to go even further in the WPC 2025/26 season. The event reinforced the Omani Gaming and Esports Committee’s growing role within the phygital calendar, strengthening its contribution to regional talent development and the WPC network’s expansion in the Middle East.

In Lima, Phygital Rivals: Peru – Dancing took place during Gamergy Peru, a major gaming and technology festival hosted at the Real Plaza Puruchuco complex. Sixteen athletes advanced through qualifying rounds before competing across two days of high-energy performances. Sergio Daniel Mayta Salazar claimed the title, taking home the trophy with a with over Team Jose Campos in the final. Organized by Esports Entertainment E.I.R.L, the tournament demonstrated how Phygital Dancing is creating new opportunities for athletes across the country.
