WPC Takes Center Stage at the Montenegro Future Festival

From May 9–11, the Montenegro Future Festival (MFF) transformed the city of Bar into a hub for gaming, innovation, and next-generation sport. As one of the Balkans’ leading esports events, MFF brought together global voices to explore the future of the industry.

Dan Merkley, Chairperson and Managing Director of the World Phygital Community, delivered the opening address, introducing the phygital movement, WPC, and the upcoming Games of the Future — while thanking the Municipality of Bar for supporting this visionary event. He also joined fellow leaders on stage to highlight the importance of international collaboration between esports organizations in advancing the global esports ecosystem.

Dan Merkley, Chairperson and Managing Director of the World Phygital Community said “We’re here to listen, collaborate, and help shape a future where everyone involved in phygital sport can reach their full potential. That is why our focus is on athlete welfare, innovation, and youth engagement.”

Dan Merkley was joined on stage by a distinguished line-up of leaders including:

  • Karol Cagan, President of the European Esports Federation (Slovakia)
  • Boban Totovski, Secretary General at the International Esports Federation (North Macedonia)
  • Ramil Aliyev, Board Member of the Global Esports Federation (Azerbaijan)
  • Pavle Sturanovic, Host Play TV show (Montenegro)

The World Phygital Community remains committed to advancing the phygital movement by fostering global collaboration and shaping a more connected future for phygital sports through events such as the Montenegro Future Festival, around the world.
