On June 19, 2025, WPC hosted its first-ever Spanish-language workshop, a significant milestone in our ongoing effort to engage with and support our rapidly growing Spanish-speaking member base, especially from Latin America. This special session, led by Marian Cortinas from the Asociación de Deportes Electrónicos de Guatemala, provided valuable insights on how to organize ranking phygital tournaments for the 2025/26 WPC season.
Throughout the workshop, participants explored various topics essential for organizing successful tournaments. The session covered practical steps for organizing WPC-aligned tournaments, including formats, rules, and ranking systems. Members received clear guidance on how to structure tournaments that meet official standards and reflect global best practices in phygital sport. Tournaments that follow these guidelines contribute to the ranking points, making it essential for members looking to advance within the global competition framework.
Gastón García, President of the Uruguayan Association of Virtual Sports said: “The Spanish-language workshop was a valuable refresher, even for those familiar with the system. Marian’s clear and thoughtful guidance made it easy to follow the updates and ask questions in our own language. These sessions are a great step toward broader inclusion across the community.”
