As the World Phygital Summit (WPS) 2025 ends for another year, we reflect on what we learned from our WPC members, partners, and phygital supporters from around the world during two engaging, content-packed days.
Dan Merkley, WPC Chairperson and Managing Director delivered a standout keynote highlighting the incredible growth of the WPC and the phygital movement over the past 12 months.
Distinguished WPC Members representing diverse nations – from Argentina to Bosnia & Herzegovinia to Cameroon and South Africa – also joined a selection of speakers from across the phygital ecosystem to share their experiences, learnings, and visions for the further development of phygital sports.
Insights included noting the increasing number of well-regarded sportspersons entering phygital sports, with notable examples from Mexico and the USA, useful panel discussions about the challenges and opportunities involved in approaching governmental support systems, as key drivers to help accelerate the adoption and development of phygital sports at national and regional levels, as well as learnings and success stories from Brazil, Iraq and Armenia about the best ways to approach the next WPC tournament season.
Another key highlight was a special address by H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Sports, who shared insights into the UAE’s vision for phygital sports in the UAE and across the Middle East.
To everyone who joined us: thank you for shaping the future. The movement is accelerating, and the success of WPS 2025 proves just how far we’ve come and how bold we’re ready to be!
